How Tournaments Work on WyntriQ
Tournaments turn individual rounds into competition. Instead of only playing for a quiz or riddle’s standard payout, you enter an event with a fixed window, post your score across one or more rounds, and see exactly where you rank against everyone else who entered. Prizes are paid in WyntriQ coins at the end of the event, automatically, straight to your balance.
The Lifecycle of Every Tournament
- Announcement: upcoming events appear on the Tournaments page and in contest listings with their start time, duration and prize pool.
- Entry window: join before the deadline by paying the listed coin entry fee — some events are free-entry as promotions.
- Competition window: play the linked quiz or riddle during the active period. Scores are recorded per round and your best result typically counts.
- Leaderboard: live rankings update as players finish rounds, visible on the event page and the leaderboard.
- Settlement: when the window closes, final ranks lock and coin prizes are credited to qualifying players without needing to claim anything.
Event Formats You Will See
- Daily tournaments reset every day — short windows, smaller fields, frequent prizes. Ideal for a lunchbreak session.
- Weekly contests run longer with bigger cumulative pools, listed under Contests.
- Bracket events pair players head-to-head in knockout rounds; win your match to advance.
- Quiz & riddle specials score on correct answers and speed rather than game outcomes.
Ranking, Ties & Fair Play
Rankings are decided by score first. Where players finish level, earlier achievement of the score ranks higher, followed by fewer rounds played — rewarding efficiency. Every event uses the same anti-cheat monitoring as regular play, and results violating our fair play policy are voided before settlement. Prize amounts for each finishing position are always shown on the event page before you commit your entry, so there are never surprises about what a win pays.
