How Guess the Word Works

Read the clue. Each riddle gives you a written clue and tells you how many letters the answer has.
Guess letters and words. Fill in the answer letter by letter. Short words like "A", "E", "O" are common starting points.
Watch your guesses. You get a limited number of guesses per word. Wrong letters are marked in red so you never repeat a mistake.
Spend coins on hints. If you are stuck, hints reveal a letter or unlock the first syllable for a small number of coins.
Earn coins per correct word. Complete the word correctly before your guesses run out to bank coins, then move to the next riddle.

Worked example: the riddle says "A portable timepiece worn on the wrist" and has 5 letters. You see five blanks _ _ _ _ _. Guess W — correct. Guess A, T, C, H and the word WATCH lights up and you win the coins.

Easy

Short 3–5 letter words, generous guess limit, everyday objects.

Medium

5–7 letter words from animals, food and places; hints cost a little more.

Hard

Longer words, obscure clues and a strict guess limit; hints become precious.
